WHO ARE WE?
We are the Friends & Family of Plano FFA, Inc. We are a non-profit corporation – a 501(c)3 corporation according to the IRS (TIN:20-3133859). We are a community buyers group that supports the Plano Senior High, Plano East Senior High, and Plano West Senior High School's PISD FFA Chapters. Our purpose is to raise money through fundraising events during the year and to award those monies to the PISD FFA livestock exhibitors who make Premium Sale at the Collin County Junior Livestock Show that is held each January.
HOW CAN YOU HELP?
Sponsorship opportunities are available for businesses, community organizations, and individuals. Friends and Family offer several levels of sponsorship opportunities. We host several fundraising events throughout the year, but our signature event is The Farmers’ Table, a farm- to-table dinner, in mid-Fall every year at The Heritage Farmstead Museum. We need sponsors like you to help with the costs of the dinner, so more money can go to the students’ projects. Friends and Family cannot exist without community partners and businesses to support our students.
WHAT IS THE COLLIN COUNTY JUNIOR LIVESTOCK SHOW?
The Collin County Junior Livestock Show is held annually each January in McKinney. The show gives the opportunity for local businesses and community organizations to be able to support the students from Collin County. Each year PISD FFA members exhibit their projects and compete against other Collin County FFA members and 4-H members. At the conclusion of the show, the judge selects the top third of the project to go into premium sale. Some of the projects are steers, heifers, lambs, swine, goats, broilers, rabbits, Ag mechanics, and floral. This is often the first taste of entrepreneurship the students receive.
